2021 Year End Newsletter

Greetings to all of our friends, and a special welcome to those who have joined in the last few months! We are a bit overdue for an update, so here it is…

We sent our last email when we released our new CD, Another Season’s Promise, back in June. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, we invite you to check it out on www.farnumfamily.org. This recording includes several gospel favorites (such as What a Friend We Have in Jesus, Be Thou My Vision, and Hannah’s popular cover of On the Right Side) as well as bluegrass, western swing, folk tunes, Dad’s rendition of On the Sunny Side of the Street, and a little Irish thrown in for good measure!

We have also added t-shirts, caps, and stickers with our Farnum Family logo to our online store this year. The t-shirts come in several gorgeous colors and are so soft and comfortable! After you’ve done your shopping, be sure to use the code OFF10 to receive 10% off your order!

Spring & Summer Recap

If you follow us on Facebook, you may recall we did some traveling over the summer. Following our CD release party in late June, we started July with programs in Lamar and Ava, Missouri for Independence Day celebrations. The next weekend we played a retirement party in northern Arkansas, then a couple days later we packed up our Silver Ford Transit van (aka Moby Dick) and headed to Loveland, Colorado to visit our son Daniel, his lovely wife Krista, and granddaughter, Eleanor. We had a wonderful stay and did a couple of shows while we were there. What a joy to once again share the stage with our first-born!

Club Possum / Mountain View, Arkansas

August was a busy month with two shows at Club Possum in Mountain View, Arkansas, a benefit show in Bolivar, Missouri, two days at the Missouri State Fair, then on to Iowa for three church concerts and our first nursing home program in well over a year. We finished the month with a weekend at the Homeschool Music Fest in El Dorado Springs, Missouri: a favorite annual event.

Fall Blessings

September & October found us mostly at home, with a local program here & there. We did have some excitement during that time though! On September 14th, our son Nathaniel and his wife, Ali, were blessed with the arrival of Amelia Bridget, weighing in at 8 lbs. 6.5 oz. Dad, Mom, and Hannah went to welcome her to the family just before leaving on their trip to the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. On September 17th Hannah competed in their Old Time Fiddle Championship, bringing home Third Place honors and a brand new fiddle awarded by Beautiful Music of Lawrence, Kansas!

And now for the BIG news!

Ozark Mountain Friday Nights

If you live in or near southwest Missouri (or plan to visit over the next few months), we invite you to attend our FREE winter music series! The first show was on November 19th, but sadly we had to cancel the December 3rd show, as we took our turn with Covid-19. We are doing well, but still dealing with some fatigue. Anyhow, the next show for Ozark Mountain Friday Nights will be December 17th and run every other Friday evening through April 8th (Good Lord willing and weather permitting) for a total of 10 shows. Located in the 400+ seat auditorium of the New Testament Christian Church (21016 Main Street, Reed Springs, Missouri) the two-hour program will feature our family’s music, humor, and a variety of special guests. Doors open at 6:30 and show time is 7 pm. We hope to see you there!
